Plot
About the town:
Mystic Harbor is a picturesque town located in the border of the States. An innocent, calm small town where nothing seemed to happen. But like any small town, it has a number of secrets just waiting to be revealed. This town was once a peaceful community. But now, as the days pass, danger increases and your back isn’t as safe as it was before. All it took was for some newcomers to come, and the town changed in a matter of days. Animal attacks started to happen, people started disappearing and inexplicable things started to get questioned by everyone in town.
And on top of those strange happenings, another uncommon thing seems to be happening; no one can seem to be able to leave the town. Strange right? Well, some people call it fate some people call it some will.
Even though the town appears completely normal, behind the calm facade lies a supernatural life. Not werewolves, not vampires, not hybrids. Just witches, who live in peace with each other. Mystic Harbor is known by it’s witches, and how they’re capable of doing anything to keep their home safe.
And that’s what they did. All together, they performed a spell that would protect a town. Four young witches who are from four powerful bloodlines of witches that have been living in the same town century after century. A powerful spell that required a lot of power from a witch, but with the help of a few more witches it wouldn’t be necessary for a witch to drain her power out. The spell consisted in a simple deal: Whoever got in, couldn’t get out. How they did that? The witches never told their secret.
But we’re sure about one thing: Once you get in, you can never get out.
Extra information:
Basically the witches of the four families have to be told they’re witches until they are twelve, so they have time to practice their magic until they’re seventeen. The the chances of the protecting spell working are high if the girls are well trained and familiarized with their kind of magic.
The witches group is not a Circle, and they’re not meant to be bound or anything like that. The four families -Poulter, Cromwell, Helliwell and Mansfield- are meant to work and coexist with each other. Since the beggining of the family line, the four families have been protecting Mystic Harbor from any threats by putting a spell on it. But, if all the members of the family of that generation die, the spell is lifted; thus the need of re-spell the town every time a new generation of those families appear.
Later on the plot, the four witches can be told of the rest of the supernatural, and specially Klaus.
The Vampire Diaries:
After all the drama with the originals, Elena decided to get away from it all. Leave it all behind and just start fresh in a new place. She decided to lose all the contact with the Salvatores, even though it would be a hard thing to do. The only people that she decided to bring along was her brother, Jeremy and her two best friends, Caroline and Bonnie. The rest of the town continued with their lives, and it was like none of it had happened. They wanted a fresh start at a new town, and that’s what they got. Well, what they at least thought they got when they found a small town in the heart of the States.
Now, the question is: Will Elena’s plan have the expected outcome, or will Mystic Harbor become the new core of the supernatural. After all, wherever she goes, the trail of supernatural will follow.
Set after the episode 3x19. All happened except for the part where Esther possessed Rebekah. Let’s pretend Esther just died.
The Secret Circle:
Chance Harbor was the home to all the members of the circle, but with the remaining threats of all the blood thirsty hunters getting too dangerous, something had to be done. Taking matters into their own hands, the six members of the circle packed their bags and left Chance Harbor, alone. They travelled for days, trying to find a town that seemed calm and safe enough for a group of witches to get set at. New school, new people. Maybe that’s what they needed. And what were the chances of findind a worse place than the one town where their lives were all in danger? Apparently, they were higher than they were expecting. Vampires, werewolves, hybrids. Before, all they had to worry about was some minor threats and the hunters that were counting down the seconds to kill them.
Will they be able to restart a new life, away from all the dangers, or will their powers make them easy bait?
